Brights Zoo is located right off Highway 11-E (also known as Andrew Johnson Highway, Highway 321) in Limestone; 8 miles west of Jonesborough and 10 miles east of Greeneville.
Note: Please do not use Google Maps as your GPS service for directions to Brights Zoo. Google Maps has our location wrong. We recommend using WAZE – click Android, iPhone, or Windows for the app.

From Johnson City or Jonesborough – Take TN-34 S/US-11E S/From Jonesborough US-321 S, also known as Andrew Johnson Highway. As you near the zoo (about 8 miles from Jonesborough), you will pass Mountain View Restaurant, then Grace Brethren Church – both on the right. Once you pass Grace Brethren Church, the Brights Zoo digital sign should be visible at the top of the hill on the right. Turn right into the zoo parking lot located directly on Hwy 11E.
From Greeneville -Take TN-34 N/US-11E N/US-321 N, also known as Andrew Johnson Highway. About 9 miles from Greeneville, you will enter Washington County. After passing the sign, watch for Johnny’s Market & Deli on the right. Once you pass Johnny’s Market, Brights Zoo is .5 miles farther and on the left side of the highway. You will need to make a U-turn in order to enter the zoo parking area.
I-26 from Asheville – Follow I-26 W/US-19 N/US-23 N/US-70 W. Take exit 37 for Tennessee 81/Tennessee 107 toward Erwin/Jonesborough. Turn left onto TN-81 N/2nd St/Jonesborough Rd and follow for 13.8 miles and at the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit onto W Main St . After 1/2 mile, turn left onto Persimmon Ridge Rd. Follow Persimmon Ridge Rd for 1.1 miles and at the traffic light, take a left onto TN-34 S/US-11E S/US-321 S. Go 6.2 miles and Brights Zoo is on the right. Look for the Brights Zoo digital sign. (This route is going to be back roads)
I-26 from Asheville – Follow I-26 W/US-19 N/US-23 N/US-70 W (without back roads) stay on I 26 until you get to exit 17 – Jonesborough exit, head towards Jonesborough. When get to HWY 11-E take a right and the zoo will be 7.8 miles on your right.
I-81 from Virginia – Follow I-81 S. Take exit 57A to merge onto I-26 E/US-23 S toward Asheville/Johnson City. Stay on I-26 for 8.3 miles and then take exit 17 for-354/Boones Creek Rd toward Jonesborough. At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn right onto TN-354 S/Boones Creek Rd (signs for Tennessee 354 S). Go 6.2 miles and at the traffic signal bear right onto TN-34 S/US-11E S/US-321 S/E Jackson Blvd. Go 8.2 miles and Brights Zoo is on the right. Look for the Brights Zoo digital sign.
I-40 from Knoxville – Follow I-40 E. Take exit 421 on the left for I-81 N toward Bristol. Continue on I-81 N for approximately 22 miles and then take exit 23 for US-11E toward Greeneville/Bulls Gap. Turn right onto TN-34 N/US-11E N (signs for Greeneville/Mosheim) and go approximately 26 miles. After entering Washington County, watch for Johnny’s Market & Deli on the right. Once you pass Johnny’s Market, Brights Zoo is 1/2 mile farther on the left (look for the Brights Zoo digital sign). You will need to make a U-turn in order to enter the zoo parking area.
